from beginning to end!"Project: Big Nell"(11/1/07)
this will be my thread i shall update on a regular basis if things go as i plan.just picked up a new project for me. for the most part its solid, i love it already. its a 1972 f100. big rick.......i wont catch you, but im gunna work hard to get to where u are! slammed/body dropped, painted, wheeled, everything. its got a strong 302 in it, bought it for 800 bucks and drove it home an hour + from where it was bought. i worked my ass off for that 800 so i feel like its mine and completely mine, and im glad it was my first big big big purchase. my name is on the title and all! its miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine hahaha. he said the add was wrong and that he was only asking 1000 obo, negotiable. but the add said 1400, so i went with the intent of spending a grand. he was VERY VERY honest, and VERY VERY nice. i was going offer 700 but i figured he was so honest telling me that the add was wrong, an extra 100 would be nice for him. 800 for a running 72 f100 sounds like a deal to me!!

the floor has a couple holes, but no big deal in my opinion. im just an 18 year old kid trying to build a bad ass ride to keep in the family and drag the living piss out of. if anyone sees something on the truck accesories wise (mirrors, emblums, bumpers) let me know. we may be able to work something out.

Great truck. Above all else, keep the 3 speed on the column. That is the coolest setup nowadays since most are converted to the floor or automatic. It's fun to take it to oil change places and watch the people there try to figure it out. Really though, since it is your truck and not a 67, slam and mod it to suit you. After all, it is yours. These modded trucks are starting to look good. Good luck and have fun.

Nice truck. How much would the tool box cost, and how much would the shipping be. Mine is was also missing the D in Ford when I got it.

Nice find! I think you got your money's worth. Paid $1000.00 for my 67 back in 1993. Your's is in almost as good of shape as mine. Just don't lower it, that's something for later model trucks. 1972 is old school. Keep it that way.

it will be slammed, theresno talking me out of it. i grew up behind these slammed out old school and new school rides, so im going with my scene. i do realize they make good restos but mine will be that plus a lot . im going to go for the mII front suspension first, so the front can lay out, then the bed is coming off, notch is going in, and it should fall into place from there.
as far as the tool box, if u want it spray can rock guarded and shipped, give me an offer and i will go see how much that stuff is. i can prime sand and do that, or just sand and blast the guard on.as far as where it mounts, i can also just sand prime and blast that with some black, so it matched. the inside, can do the same for more money of course. just make an offer, or if u want it how it sits, make an offer.

You can buy the crossmember from fatman fabrications like I did and get the rest of the parts from a mustang II for less the price of the custom stuff. You can use the stock upper and lower control arms and spindles from the mustang and you will also need ford granada rotors and
cheby camaro brake calipers and you can use 1984-1995 mustang racks for your steering. If you have a 9" dif on your truck you may need to get adapters for either your front or rear wheels because of the bolt pattern differences or you can get the new rotor that Fatman fabrications came out with, they are made to match the bolt pattern of a Ford 9". I have the instructions that came with my kit when I bought it 8 years ago, I also have lots more information that can be useful just let me know and i'll try to scan the instructions for you.

alrighty, so if i use some custom tubular arms, i go for those, mustang II spindles, granada rotors, what year camaro calipers? im guessing the granada is discs? and who makes that car lmao, ive never really heard that before. I dont THINK i have a 9" its a 1972 swb with a 302 and three on the tree. and then as well as fox body mustang racks. and how much should i spend on a crossmember? is there a certain width that you went with?

hey marz, its possible to keep the 3 on the tree correct? im going to go with a brushed look column with the three on the tree if possible. I dont want the really shiny columns, the billet ones, i want to go for the brushed alluminum look through out the ride. also, is the dash easy to pull? I want to re work it and paint it the color i want the truck, for inspiration of completeing .
im thinking black leather interior with wood grain to match. with a cran/apple color
