Well I'm into something I know really nothing about (again!). At some point I had head, parking and tail lights working. Still have signals and 4 ways operating. I've done some visual tracing of wires. Actually it seems pretty clean. I took the switch out of the dash and searched the net for a wiring diagram for an F100 (1954). Every diagram showed a reostat as a component of the switch. This one doesn't seem to have one. Since the lights were working, I don't really dont want to start messing with the connections.
I have a multimeter. Should I set it to DC voltage (20) and start checking for power here and there? If a head light or tail light has blown, does that affect the others too? Any simplified advice would be appreciated!

They didn't have 4 ways in 54 , so who knows what has happened to your wiring in the last 70 years.
