Oil Leak Help!

Post by Beaudry- »

Hey guys,
My truck leaked quite a bit of oil on my drive today. It was leaking power steering fluid recently, it I redid the gaskets on the pump and think (thought?) I had it beat.
There is oil pooling on the same spot, on the motor mount beside the oil filter on the drivers side. I took photos but can’t figure out how to post them lol. I believe it is oil and not power steering fluid. My oil filler cap leaks a bit of oil but I don’t think that is the problem.
Any ideas?
I had my buddy turn the wheel back and forth and didn’t see any power steering fluid leak.

Welcome to our site.
Be sure your oil filter is tight and that you don't have the gasket from the old filter still stuck there.
It happens , and a double gasket doesn't leak right away , but it will leak.
there maybe a oil pressure sending unit or line there too.
And if you have an F E engine. they have a bolt on filter mount that could leak.
