Headers

Gents,
Per a previous post, I’m upgrading my largely stock ‘70 F100 302 with a new Holley 500. At the same time, is there any value in also replacing the headers? I’m sure they’d benefit from new gaskets. Is it worth replacing the 53 year old headers? If so, any solid recommendations?

Are you talking about replacing the original exhaust manifolds, or headers that were put on by a previous owner? Headers would be an aftermarket item for better exhaust and performance.

Good question. I should have clarified, I’m talking about replacing original stock exhaust manifolds.

You have a stock engine , I don't know if you'd gain that much.
low price headers can develop gasket leaks and be a pain to deal with.

A long long time ago I actually took aftermarket headers off my truck and cleaned up and put a nice reconditioned set of manifolds back on. never looked back.
