Carb Kit

Post by 390xlt »

I've got a weird stumble and hard starting, so I figured cleaning the carb and replacing all the gaskets and rubber would be a good place to start. Does anyone have a favorite kit for rebuilding the 2100, or is one as good as the next?

Motorcraft CT499D was always the go-to carb kit, made in USA, don't’ know if that has changed in today’s world where everything is from Asia.
Someone else may know about this.

edit; so in trying to find you a link for this kit, most say “out of stock” or “sold out”.
Recall this has been ongoing so maybe these are no longer available, try contacting Pony Carbs for their recommendation.

I have used alot of Echlin kits, always seemed to be the nicer of kits I could get locally.

Mikes carburetor parts online is pretty solid. https://www.carburetor-parts.com/

I also use a company online called " The Carburetor Doctor" I would consider them to be top shelf kits and expect to pay accordingly.

Thanks for all the replies! Looks like I can get a decent kit for somewhere in the $30-35 neighborhood
