The pulley on the damper should be attached using lock washers. The large damper bolt uses a large thick flat washer. That is the way my 360 with a 4 bolt is. Since my 302 and 351 Cleveland's are the same I am pretty sure the 3 bolt would be the same. The pulley bolts are nothing special but the damper bolt is fine thread. The washer is about 1/8 in thick so if you misplace it they kind of stand out on the bench. The damper gets a lot of vibration and if you are rebuilding the engine I would use a new one. I have had guys tell me that the use of grade 8 bolts for the pulleys is not recommended because the harder bolt is more prone to shear than a softer one. I don't know if that is true or not. I do use ARP for replacement of the big damper. But I have no problem using the stock one one a regular motor. I have never seen one that failed.
