Recheck your firing order as it sounds like it might be off. I would check the firing order for that cam you have in as well just to make sure the manufacturer didnt change it in any way.
It probably is the 351 windsor firing order but i would double check and then check to make sure its right on the engine.

Also going back looking at your pictures it looks like the firing order is wrong unless the cam is fired off in the old 302 firing order.

Old = 15426378

302 HO and 351 wind= 13726548

Bandit,

this is the cam i got
COMP Cams K31-414-3 Magnum 224/224 Hydraulic Flat Cam K-Kit for Ford 221-302

Also i haven't made any adjustments to the new Holley carb. I just bolted it down and fired the engine. I read that could be some of my issues

Looks like it does have the old firing order for it so that last post of mine but still check the order.

Once you’ve double checked the firing order and everything else...

Got a spark tester?

How about a Vac gauge?

Timing light? (does it have advance?)

The Holley, what’s the list number? (EG 1850, 3310, 80517, it is on the choke horn stamped in the front on most carbs... sorry you’ve probably already said somewhere...)

hey Duck, sorry for the late reply. I moved to a new house and finally pulled the cover on the truck today.

I did not set the fuel bowl levels yet. I can tell you that the level in the bowls is to low. That could be an issue.

Also the mechanical fuel pump (new) must have died because when i tried to start it today i got no fuel pressure and i pulled the line from the carb and cranked it but no fuel. Do pumps just die?

After a year, the truck drove for the first time last week. I found a 30 year hot rod mechanic through a friend. The truck is tuned FINALLY! I had a few things way out of sink that I would have never figured out. What a great feeling!

Mr David said finding a marine block is a gem and usually sawed after due to the stronger crank and rods.

I will get some running vids asap!

I want to thank EVERYONE for the help through this build. I learned so much from this group!

Great news! It always feels good to get that first drive on it after doing some major repairs or improvements.
