Re: engine cradle?
I've always done that type of stuff on an engine stand. If you do come up with a cradle I'm interested to see your design, I've got a couple of engines I need to do something similar with for storage so I can scrap the vehicles they are in and clear up the yard.

Re: engine cradle?
As already mentioned, I would probably remove trans & place it on an engine stand..........
Summit has a BUNCH of engine cradles, but sadly, none for FE's
https://www.summitracing.com/int/search ... e%20cradle
But if you have a mig, all you need is some 1" x0.100" wall tube, and a couple chunks of flatbar. use the flatbar to make a plate that bolts to the block where the engine mounts were bolted up. Once the plates are made & bolted up to the block, using the 1" tube, build yourself a rectangular perimeter frame , and finally, add some 1" tube outriggers to tie the block plates to the perimeter frame......

Re: engine cradle?
I pulled mine and used an engine stand, but I left the transmission in the truck. I plan on building a cradle out of 2" square tubing and a piece of plate steal. With a mig welder it should be pretty simple. I will try to post pick after I have proven my design.
