After Market Trans Mount

Post by jf100 »

Does anyone know if they make an aftermarket transmission mount for a c-6? I went from a c-4 to a c-6 and put long tube headman headers on and now the it looks like the pipe that will connect to the headers will be sitting on top of the trans mount and really close to the transmission. I have an idea of mounting the cross member on the under side of the frame and then putting in some kind of spacer from the mount to the transmission. I can use any and all feed back on this idea. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks for the info. Quick question. I am new to this rebuilding and swamping parts around so this might be a dumb question when it is talking about a 3 or 6 in drop does that mean the rear of the trans drop that much lower and if so does that mess with the drive line pitch? Thanks again for the information.

Yes and yes. Probably should stick with zero drop. You'll have to figure out brackets to mount the ends to the frame. Be sure and post your installation for us. Long tube header interference with the crossmember is a big question here.
