C6 swap and shifting transfer case

Did a c6 swap in 72 f250, when shifting the transfer case (Dana 24) I have to stop and shut off the motor to get it back into 2h or the t case just grinds. Any ideas? Thanks

For some reason it seems the trans is still spinning .
I'm assuming you're going from 4 low to 2 high.?

double check your linkage to make sure it is in neutral when shifting.
or try putting it in park , but that can sometimes cause it to bind also.
