Camper Tail light problem

Post by alvald83 »

My truck is a 69 F250 Camper Special. I am installing some Led tail lights on my camper and i am having issues. Im hoping someone can help.
I went with the existing tail light wiring that is functioning properly and new tail lights work fine until i turn the head lights on. When the head lights are on the left signal does not work. since the wires are spliced into the existing wires, the chance for error is slim. i ordered another set of lights and had the same result. Any ideas what the problem could be?
I checked the lights on a spare battery i have.
Black is ground.
White is brake/signal (brighter).
Red is lights.
Thanks for your help

Double check your grounds.
With the lights off the brake light can ground through the tail lights.

The best way is too get a long temporary jumper and go the the negative battery post.

I ran a ground jumper wire directly from the negative battery terminal. This did not fix the problem. The light is still functioning strangely.
