"Penny" My 1967 F250 - 2wd turned 4x4
I am pleased to bring my 1967 F250 I named "Penny" to the forum. (named after a penny dated 1967 I found under the seat while starting its resurrection) It was a 2wd truck but I have now converted it to 4x4 using 1973 f250 components. It only has 67k original miles on it and the original 352FE and NP435. It has a Dana60 trac-lock rear with 3:73 gears and now a '73 Dana44HD front. Its Harbor blue (and rust) with B code interior, I rebuilt the 352 to factory spec and I am working to freshen every aspect of the truck. I will be leaving the patina on it for now. It was sold new in Knoxville, Iowa and was a real estate truck in the beginning. You can see in its patina that on the bed it says "Iowa Realty Co. Inc." and on the doors it says "Farm & Ranch" "department" "Des Moines". I bought it from Doug's 4 wheelers in Pella Iowa which is only about 15 miles from where it sold from new. Let me know if you have any questions but other than that. enjoy the photos of the rebuild.

Re: "Penny" My 1967 F250 - 2wd turned 4x4
my Dad and I pulled the block to check the bottom end and remove a stuck distributor. This motor only has 67k original miles on it, everything was tidy and in excellent shape. The cylinder walls even had the factory cross hatch still in them. we cleaned the sealing surfaces and prepped it for the new Fel-Pro gaskets. After we rebuilt the heads we re-installed them and other components and I then started paint prep.

What has been done to the heads?
Which color do you use?

Just a stock rebuild on the heads. We re-seated the valves and then just cleaned them and installed new seals and gaskets. After we cleaned everything it was all in excellent shape so we just ran with it. Painted it with "old ford blue" engine paint. pics coming.

For such a good-in-shape engine that would be enough - if all the clearances are in between better than doing too muchBrycenSmith wrote:timachone wrote:Nice - love the pics, thank you

Did you re-use the original valves? Are they a one-piece-design?
