69 highboy
Has anyone heard of the VIN plate being incorrectly stamped? The reason why I'm asking is that I'm looking at a 69 F250 Highboy but the VIN tag says two wheel drive and it doesn't have a front axle code on it either. The rest of the tag is correct and all the correct Highboy parts are there

Look on the top of the frame on the passenger side below where the alternator is - it should have the VIN # stamped there and see if it matches the tag. That is the actual VIN for the truck and here in Ohio it's what's used to ID the truck as to what it actually is. Depending on where you live you might have to wire brush or steel wool it to be able to see it.......hopefully it is what they say.......

You likely have a 2wd body on a 4x4 chassis. A large percentage of Highboy's running around have been body swapped.

Maybe the driver's side door was replaced sometime during the truck's life and who ever did the swap didn't put the original door vin tag on the replacement door. Just a thought.

Another vote for the possibility of the body swap. My 67' is riding on a 68' frame..
