1967 hood emblem paint color

Post by floyd67 »

The hood emblem on the sides of the hood on the '67 trucks were painted some shade of red. Anyone know the proper paint color or code.
Thanks

I’m gonna say Ford Red is going to be close enough.
You can get it in engine enamel.

I recently restored the hood emblems on my '67. I've used Dupli Color Victory Red in the past and where I had some I thought I would give it a try. It's a dark red and seems very close to what the factory might have used. Make sure you use some etching primer first. I attached a link to the part # at the bottom.

I think for some reason that this paint faded more so than others on these emblems because most of the originals I see are kind of a pink color now.
