There's one that runs along the drivers side frame rail that isn't too hateful. Looks like the back of an old refrigerator. Just a hard line that runs back and forth.

Hayden makes small coolers that mount in the airflow pretty cheaply. I prefer the original design however.

Thanks Ranchero50 and Busboy, This is the one I was thinking about getting and put it in the frame rail.
Thanks

I don't think it's really needed. Have you felt the lines after driving it hard in the twisties to see of the PS system is generating a lot of heat? I don't have one on my truck with a front wheel load of 6400 lbs and the system stays relatively cool.

Ranchero, It's never been driven since I put the ps unit on but that's what I'll do, run it without and see if I do need it. Can always add it later.
Thanks

I'm thinking it may have been a patch repair for the weak Bendix style p.s. box that was discontinued mid 69.

Didn't Ford use them extensively in the '70's? I thought that's where the one in the pic was sourced from. Little ******** would cut the snot out of you in the dark.

I installed the type made of tubing that mounts along the frame rail. It came from a Dentside. They are not a direct bolt in. Unless you bend them somehow or add to their length, like I did, they hit the x-member and won't fit. Not a big deal, but I thought it worth mentioning.

Thanks guys for the input, I decided to just take it off for now and see if I really need it. Looks a LOT cleaner without it!
