1978 Ford F150 rad support to 1972 Ford F100

Post by North56 »

I plan on using the rad support out of the 1978 Ford F150 supercab on my 1972 Ford F100. As you can see, the support is in great shape. The 1978 support has a wider rad than the 1972. What are my options ?

1. Use the rad from the 1978 and plug up the holes for the transmission lines, my 1972 is a manual. I hope the fan shroud lines up for the 302 in the 1972, the 1978 has a 400 cu in.

2. Use the rad from the 1972 and modify the 1978 support to fit the smaller rad from the 1972 ?

3. Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Probably be easier to fab mounts for your original radiator and fan shroud. Some other minor mods are also rquired. http://www.fordification.com/tech/radsupport.htm
