Post by 68monster »

Hey all I purchased a truck with a factory ac/ the po had taken out the ac but gave me all the parts, does anyone have some pictures of how your ac pump is installed. the bracket he gave me for it has an idle roller on it but it doesn't look like it will line up with the compressor and the pulleys from the crank. the ac pump is a York. ill post some pics of the bracket that I have when I get a second.

i just finished an AC project using this bracket on my FE (390). It required some shimming, but works fantastically. It tucks the compressor away at the bottom of the motor and you can use a modern (easily obtainable/replaceable) compressor.

Sorry to hijack, but what compressor did you use? I'll probably go with one of the modern repro units (eventually).

The bracket fits a Sanden 508 style compressor. Here's a link for a generic one on Ebay.

If you email me, I'll send three pics of my truck with factory AC, PB, PS 360, which is identical to your 390
