Coolant OOzing from somewhere?!?!

I am at a loss with my truck.... I was going to back the choke out a bit and noticed a puddle of coolant around the top of the intake and around the base of the distributor.
now I took pics and decided to suspend all activity until I ran this by you guys.
is there a way that coolant could come bubbling out of the dizzy hole? It sure looked like that was happening or it could have been the fan just making it ripple.
I checked all the hoses and all are tight and dry.
could it be the temp sending unit?
just want some advice before proceeding.
In a previous thread, i recently replaced the distributor and wires and im pretty sure it isnt tied in to the water jacket.

If it's coolant I'd say it's coming from that temp sensor or higher up at the heater hose, distributor is just the low spot that it is collecting at.

Is the temp sensor newer? It looks to be.

Does it have any PTFE on it. That would be the first thing I would check/do.

yes, the temp sending unit is relatively new and it actually looks like it has backed itself out a bit...
I'll go down and get some high temp thread sealer and screw it back down.
Panicked when I saw it because it was totally unexpected and I was actually working on the carburetor at the time.

Is there an easier way of removing that temp sensor or maybe a special tool?
The way I see it, I’m going to have to drain the radiator and remove my precious distributor to get that little booger out... of course I just KNOW you all have a secret trick...

Wet dry vac over the radiator cap opening. Once you get it positioned correctly it'll draw a vacuum on the system but not suck any coolant out. Then simply remove the temp sensor and reseal it.

Best to have the vacuum cleaned out because I've not done it without sucking up some coolant.

That takes care of the coolant side of my dilemma, but leaves the odd position for unscrewing it.

IIRC a socket will fit on the stock sender. Should not have to mess with anything else.

I’ve also used a crows foot and a short open end wrench.
