'78 Bronco frame under a '69 F100

Post by wmscott »

I found a 1969 F100 swb sitting on a 1978 Bronco chassis. Is the '78 Bronco frame compatible to fit under the '69 F100 body without doing lots of modifications?

Welcome to the site.
The Bronco wheelbase is about a foot shorter than a short pickup.
and you may need to fab some rear cab mounts , but the front will bolt up.

Thanks for the info. So I'm assuming the frame needs to be lengthened?

Or make a really short box , those look cool.

In 1973 the rear of the frames got wider than the earlier trucks.

Instead of lengthening the Bronco frame ,
you could graft a '67-72 rear frame to the front half of the Bronco ,then you'll have only one splice to weld.
