Shifter linkage bushing seems stuck

Shifter linkage bushing seems stuck
1969 f100 C6 tranny. I am trying to remove the large bushing for the shifter linkage. I have removed the valve body and the shifter pin. I see the bushing but it seems to have a metal ring around it and I cannot get this thing out. Help please. The tranny is still in the truck
