Blank trans collar for 3 speed?
I have a manual 3 speed in my 68 F100 that I changed to a Hurst floor shift. I want to removed the shift collar from the column and put a "blanK' one on there. Any idea what part that is? I presume the floor shift trucks came with a blank on there but none of the parts catalogs show it.

I believe both the Bronco and Mustang collars will work but haven't actually done it. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... hp?t=74516

What baffles me is what collar did they use for the four speed floor shift steering columns? Must be a blank but no catalog show it.

Yes, there was a blank collar for a floor shift truck but nobody makes an aftermarket version specifically marketed as for a 67-72 F100. There's just not that big of a market.

A little JB Weld and body filler and you have a one piece collar. I looked all over and only found an NOS Mustang collar for $135. Almost bought a Mustang column to disassemble and thought I could do this for about $4 in JB.

Re: Blank trans collar for 3 speed?
Thanks! It wasn't hard to do, but I think it made reassembly harder fishing the wires into the column and putting everything back together. At least it's only a one time thing.

Re: Blank trans collar for 3 speed?
Most any of the "blank" collars from the early and mid 60's Fords or Mercurys will work. Mustang, Falcon, Comet etc. The collars from Trucks up into the 70's will also work. Be sure to get the mounting hardware with the new collar as the blanks mount differently than the 3 speed or auto collars. The install of the collar and turn signal plate can be a pain at times, but a little patience and common sense go a long way.
Good Luck
