My wife and I bought this '72 F100 Custom around three years ago with 48,000 original miles (supposedly). It is a fairly basic truck, with no power anything or much extra trim, powered by a 360/C6. It came with a vintage camper top and a hitch receiver dropped two inches, making almost too low for anything other than a popup trailer. The story is that the owner's grandfather bought the truck used in the late '70s in PA, Kept it garaged and only drove it a couple of times a year from NC to FL, pulling a small camper. The condition of the truck seems to match the story, with a nice interior, paint and Ford parts in places you don't often see on high milage vehicles: brake shoes, Radiator hoses, Paper tag hanging on the trans, etc.
I put a Dual 2.5" exhaust and Flowtech headers on the truck when I first bought it, and just recently converted to a duraspark II. I am about to have to replace the radiator, and plan on putting in an adjustable timing set and degree the cam straight up at the same time. I also hope to find a "T" 4 barrel intake in the next few months.
I haul things around sometimes for my work, so a little extra power to go with the already bad milage would be a big plus!
