Auto trans column

Auto trans column
Hey guys. Need someone advice from someone with more smarts than me. Is there a light in the steering column to illuminate the shift dial and pointer? I was under the impression there was but do not see a socket upon tear down. I'm switching to auto from 4spd. Thanks....
