1972 F250

Hey All

I have a 1972 Ford F250, with a 360 engine and i am guessing a C6 Trans.I might be starting to get prices to get things replaced and wanting to know a good place to get a New Trans or and trans for this enginee and whatnot..

X2 the c6 for the fe series ford engines has a specific bell housing pattern that may drive the price of replacement up versus a small block. If your not comfortable i would say check into your local "old school trans shop" not aamco. What's your goals for the truck? Welcome to Fordification.

hey all

so my brother is goign to be doing the work on teh truck and he went to WYOTECH so he knows what he is doing. I think we want to just get a replacement for eh engine, and just doe some updates to stuff that is broke. So i am in the planning stages of stuff and wanted to know if there is a place that just sells replacement parts to stuff like this, and the trans

Depending on where you live, there should be some shops that sell rebuilt transmissions near you. I live three hours from Los Angeles, and there are plenty of shops that carry rebuilt C6 trannies for $500 with a 90-day warranty. Or, you can spend $1200 for one that's done right. I was given a C6 from a '71, and decided to rebuild it myself. Messy, but not difficult. I didn't do anything with the valve body, other than cleaning it out (I tipped it over, and water ran out). The rest was easy-peasy. I'm finding the hard part to be selecting the correct torque converter!
