Is This The Original Interior (Pics)?

Post by treverd »

1971 F100 Ranger
VIN: F10YNJ80652

Could anyone help me understand if the door panels and rubber floor are original for this truck?

I had thought all rubber flooring was black. This floor has red speckled into it. The Truck is two-toned red and Wimbledon white.
The PO told me the seat had been re-covered 5 years prior but did not mention anything about the door panels or flooring, so I thought I would ask the experts.

I've never seen a original floor mat like that before so I don't think it is original but I could be wrong.

door panels and floor covering both look to be custom and not original.

Busboy,
Do you believe that the red/black flooring was factory original to your 67'?

Found this picture of similar door panels so at least I know they are not one-offs?

Thanks again,

Wow, I was sure wrong. Looks to be confirmation from two others that the flooring and door panels were original. I sure had never seen any that looked like that from a 67 or anything up to 72 for that matter.

My 67 Custom Cab has the same style floor cover, with beige instead of red. The insert on the driver's side (pad for your feet) is solid beige.

I really appreciate your help guys.
Looks like I need to do a good job at preserving the door panels and the odd red rubber flooring.
I guess I will have to try and find a way to patch the small tear in the door panel. Any suggestions?

the rubber floor mat in my 67 is the same as what yours is. what little paint my truck has on it is white on top and red every where else. my floor mat is split in several places. carpet or new floor mat? not sure which.

That speckled floor mat was used for the 67-69 Custom Cab trim level and the 70-72 Sport Custom and possibly Ranger trim level. Base model trucks had plain black mats and only the 67-69 Ranger and 70-72 Ranger XLT had carpets.
