I just recently purchased my long sought after 1968 F100 shortbed. She's 2WD, FE 360/2 barrel with a manual 4-spd tranny.
I had a '79 F150 in high-school and college and regret to this day selling that truck. But I wanted a nice new and shiny truck at the time. Well for the last several years I have been wanting to buy a late 60s F100 to restore. I finally found one close by for the right price. The truck runs and drives and has the original drive train. The seller listed it as a daily driver - well not for me. The body is pretty straight with minimal rust but the engine and most of the other moving parts are pretty worn out. My ultimate plan is to do a frame off restore with a new/upgraded drivetrain and new/upgraded suspension. That's gonna have to wait for a few years. For now I just want to get her running well and semi-reliable so I can enjoy driving her around town on the weekends. I have already replaced the brake system and front wheel bearings. Next step is the rear end the, change all the fluids, adjust / fix linkages and do a major tune-up on the engine. The engine has a pretty significant oil leak that I will have to chase down and deal with as well. I am sure I will be asking for a lot of advise.

May your sails stay full, and your knots not slip. Unless a slip knot.
