Tire size for 1969 F-100 4x4
I recently bought a 1969 Ford F-100 4x4 that has basically been in the family since it was new. It hasn't been on the road in a number of years, but that's about to change! I would like to keep the basic "stock" look, but I'm definitely not a purist. This brings me to my question...what size tire should I go with? It currently has 235/75-15 now, but I need help determining what size looks the best on stock rims. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Long live the bump!!!

Welcome to the site.
Your 235s are actually bigger than what these came with , but I wouldn't go any smaller.
I think anything bigger than a 31x 10.50 looks too big on a stock suspension.
Your truck looks pretty clean what state do you live in?

Thanks for the advice, it was along the lines of what I was thinking as well. I live in Iowa, but the truck is back home in Oregon. I feel very fortunate that it didn't spend its life in Iowa...land of the salty roads and crusty trucks!!! I think I will try to go to a 31" 9.50 tire, but I will need to find new steel rims!

Those old bias Buckshots are awesome in mud.
They used to list with the old letter designation.Q 78 was about 36 "
R85 was 37 "
The radials have much shorter lugs.
do they list them by size now ?utahnate wrote:the original bias ply buckshot mudder made by gateway. 33x9.50r16

Nope N78-15 31x9.50, and P78-16 33x10.50
