I have a 1967 F-100 and I purchased a power window kit from A1 Electric part number FD-58K. IAW their advertisement the window regulators in the kit is supposed to be a custom/direct bolt in fit/replacement for the original window regulators that came in 1967 F-100s. The advertisement write-up indicates that this kit will not work in 1968-1972 F-100 trucks without modifying/welding and cutting the regulators. The experience I am having with the kit, it appears that they will not work on my vehicle either unless they are modified. The regulator assemblies are a bolt in fit however the arm that extends from the crank mechanism rubs against the window channel when hooked up to the window. If the bottom of the window channel is secured/bolted to back the door in my opinion there is no way the motor on the crank mechanism will have enough power to raise and lower the window. That's how hard the arm from the window regulator is rubbing against the window channel. The person I talked to by phone at A1 Electric indicated that this is the first time in 11 years that he has heard of this happening. He also gave me the impression that technical assistance for this issue does not exist. Hate to bore you with this long post however the purpose of this post is to ask if someone else has used this kit and if so did you have the kind of problem I attempted to explain above. If you did, how did you overcome the problem. As usual I am thankful for all the help I have received from reading the forum.

Sorry to hear you are having troubles, but I am not surprised. I had dealings with A1 last year on a 72 Camaro I was restoring. The motor would not lift the glass half way with the battery boosted and the weatherstripping removed. They finally agreed to accept the product back and then hit me with a 40% restocking fee. I have nothing nice to say about them.
chicof100 and zazoos, thanks for the response, at this time I guess I will alter the window regulators based in the info provided by the representative at A1 Electric and see what happens. Based on his recommendation I don't think I will get the results I want (windows working without an issue) but will give it a try. Will not be a future customer of A1 Electric because of no technical support.

I bought this kit several years ago for my '69. They must have added the info about them not fitting 68-72's after I bought mine because it sure didn't say that when I did! Frodo is under the truck cover right now, but as I recall what I did was to put a few washers between the lower window channel mount and the door. That gave just enough clearance for the regulator arm. Not sure If I'll keep these though.
Or you can always do what Red Green did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uG6grzdUf8

flyboy2610 that's a good idea that Red Green came up with. If I would have used his idea I would have a lot more money in my pocket. I ended up putting several bends in the regulator arm to get the clearance needed to keep the arm from binding/rubbing against the window channel. It wasn't easy but after several tries and the help of a friend we finally got them to work. I will not be a repeat customer of A1 Electric anytime soon.
Flyboy wish I would have saw your post yesterday, sorry but I got it all put together now. Maybe I can loosen up the bottom of the door panels and put my phone in and take some pictures. Will try and see what they look like.
