floor shifter seal
I am putting in a floor shifter on my rebuild. It comes with a leather boot and ring that attaches to the floor. I wanted to get opinions of ways to seal the hole in the floor as it just doesn't seem very weather tight to just have the boot and ring? Thanks in advance for everyone's advice.

Re: floor shifter seal
The NP435 shifter on my 70 had a square section of closed cell foam to catch any liquids splashing up onto the tunnel. Beyond that, it was the rubber shift boot and retaining ring. You could add some foam or rubber weatherstripping and sandwich the boot to the trans cover/floor pan.

I'm going to be putting a NV4500 in my rig, it came with a boot within a boot kind of setup. Of course I don't have pictures of it anywhere. The inner one is substantially closer and tighter to the hole.
