sealing gas tank

Post by rwilly »

I ordered some tank sealer from Dennis Carpenter.
Think it will patch these holes?

It might but I would always worry about springing a leak on the road somewhere. It's worth it to me to buy a new tank and have peace of mind.

Anybody ever use this stuff?

I think a patch on the outside, then sealer inside oughta do the trick.

I looked inside the tank and I am surprised on how clean it is. The pinholes are located at the bottom of the tank, below the filler hole and they are from a small amount of water sitting in the corner. I will just use the patch and call it good.

Just in case you was wondering.

Put a bunch of dry ice inside the tank and tig the holes.
