Old gm'r buy's Ford Pickup

Post by 67 StylesLide »

I've been a wrench turner for a long time but I'm clueless about Fords. So here I am for a learning experience. I really think this could be the last pickup I own. It'll be a daily driver for a short 4 mile commute to work till I retire in a couple years.
My new to me '67 Ford 100 seems to be a pretty original rig with 3sp column shift / 240 ci. Split exhaust manifold with heat riser to the carb. I'm not much for slotted mags and I'm pretty sure that's too much tire for it.
I have some questions about my options for upgrades / parts sources,, both mechanical and cosmetic.
For instance,,, Did I see something about using an HEI distributor?...and ... Where the heck did these front disc brakes come from?....and ....Did these inboard rear coils come stock or are they an aftermarket item.
I'll need to do some reading here.
Looking forward to a positive experience.
Here's the first pic with my old motorcycle in back which I rode a couple hours to get the pickup.

Nice truck!

Welcome form another recent arrival from the Mopar world. Although I have owned a few
late 60's Mustangs in the late 09's.
