69 F100 Lead Sled Rat Rod Build

Post by 3West »

New to the site with a 69 long bed I recently acquired. Thought I would post a few pics of the truck as purchased. I will be doing what I have labeled as a lead sled rat rod build with the truck. I will post new pics along the way. Thanks for looking.

Here are a couple of pics of the sun visor I'm working on. I'm not completely done with it but I am curious to hear what others think about it so far.

Interesting. Since I'm 6'4", it would make it so I can't see the road, but it's an interesting idea. :)

Cheers,

It doesn't really show in the pictures, but the seat is sitting 2-3 inches lower than stock so the visor doesn't actually affect visibility. But, then again, I'm not 6' 4" LOL.

Keeping with the "build it cheap" aspect of a rat rod, I picked up this $10 bumper today that needs just a tiny bit of straightening.

Also, here is the steel grille I got for a steal that I will be cutting up to make a one of a kind custom grille.

Shade tree bumper straightening 101. All you need is a bent bumper, a tree, some ratchet straps, and a hammer.

And after a little strategic pulling and hammering, you have a straight bumper again.
