1970 F250 Donor Truck - Anything you need?

Post by SoCalRefuge »

<I wasn't sure if I should put this here or in the 'general' discussion forum. For me this is a project so here it is>

I just acquired a 1970ish F250 truck to be a donor truck for the motor and running gear to a 1967 version F250. There are parts from many different trucks in what I have named "Frank" (short for Frankenstein). Some are F100, some are Ranger trim. All need work of some kind.

I want to immediately start finding new homes for all the pieces I don't need or want. The 'want' list is shortest.

I want the running gear, motor and trans as well as enough of the cab that I can keep it rolling stock and for testing the motor as I go through it. Front brakes and PS will go on my '67.

That said, I don't want:
  • any of the doors (I have four)
two hoods (one badged in F100)
    A rusty tail gate
    Interior trim
the bed which is in pretty good shape. Only one pin hole for rust.
badges (the cab was in Ranger trim)
    hardware bits hinges, etc.
glass ( all four doors and rear window )
    Air conditioning interior components.
    Seat.
Whatever else. Please ask. Most I can say is "No thank you."
I have started an album on photo bucket where I have put the initial pictures. I will be adding pictures as I go or as you request.

If there is something you want or need, make me an offer. I will do the research for fair market value as I go so as to not get burned on some rare gem I might not know about right now. Be mindful that if I have to take it apart, my time is money. If you are in the Dayton, OH area, you can come get parts yourself. Shipping costs are on you.

I am not a business, nor am I in the business. I just have an old truck with parts that I don't need and want to share them with others that have a similar interest.

Eventually I'll list what is left on CL, and then to the scrap yard with the rest.

I have my treasures, maybe there is something in here for you.

I was hopping you were in SO CAL. But alas.. I'm not that lucky I guess.
I'm looking for a straight long bed and a set of black sun visors.
Thanks

What shape is the steering wheel in? Does it have a horn ring? Color?

Thanks!

Here's a link to the picture: http://i1075.photobucket.com/albums/w43 ... _h1422.jpg

It is the same black(ish) color as the cab. There is no horn ring.

I am surprised at how little need there is for any of the parts available from this truck. :hmm:

I'm going to start stripping it down and will try a few things on CR. Otherwise, I'll get my money from the scrap yard.

is the AC factory ?

I'd like to know about the defroster hoses that are hanging down in one pic and is the shape of the housing that the heater core, blower motor and AC parts are in and what shape it's in, anything cracked/broken ?

70shortwide - I have two driver side doors. I'm not sure of the condition of the internals. I'll pull one or both apart and take some pictures. What should I look when evaluating it as 'good' for you?

habu - It is factory A/C. What do you want to know about the defoster hoses? The unit is just sitting on the seat as you can see. I'll take it out and get better pictures and make more specific notes on condition.

I'm going to be OOT for a couple days so be patient.

Sorry for the late reply. The windshield is junk. I too wanted it too.

If you were local to me, I'd be on your doorstep in less than an hour. Alas there isn't anything on my wish list urgent enough to pay for packaging and shipping across the country. :)

Best of luck in finding homes for your truck bits!

Cheers,
