I live in Surprise, Az, which is a suburb of Phoenix. That means A/C is a necessity in the summer. It also means that I have to emissions post 66 vehicles, or get classic car insurance which qualifies the vehicle to be exempt for emissions.
This week, I was looking on Craigslist and ran across a 1967 F100 long bed with a 300 and three on the tree. It really caught my eye when the ad said Cold A/C! We drove 53 miles today to look at it. The truck doesn't smoke, and has a single barrel carb that probably needs rebuilt. Cold a/c alright! New tires, brakes and he resealed the rear end. He also ran classic car insurance on it. The body needs paint and some body work, but all in all, appears pretty good.
No intentions in making this $1500 truck into a $10,000 truck. Rather, it will be functional and have a fresh coat of paint before too long. I look forward to sifting through these threads and joining the bump side community. Oh ya, the old truck, named "John-boy" by my daughter, was an instant hit with my 3 kids.
