Re: 67- SWB, CV swap, 2007 3v 4.6/ 5 sp
Haven't been making much progress lately. Still no bed/ hood. I did order wheels about 2 weeks ago, so I should see them hopefully by the end of the month. Been finishing up the interior and tinkering w a few other things. Thought I'd bore u guys w a few pics.
Added a 1157 style socket to the cargo light with a red/ white switchback led. Now it'll double as a third brake light.
Added some dress up stuff to the kinda homely 4.6.
Here's where I hid the mini amp that runs the sub. Cut some sheet aluminum that lays on top of the glovebox insert to help hold the weight. The mid/high amp is under the glovebox tucked up under the dash.
Mostly complete interior.

Truck looks great.
I agree about the 4.6, not the prettiest mod motor out there by a long shot.
Curious what wheels you decided to order up?

Yeah, the dress up stuff helps it out a lot. A lot of people have asked what it is, so maybe the pony on the intake will help clear that up.
The wheels are true forged victories. I ended up getting 20x8.5 for the front and 20x13 in the rear.
Thanks, I'm pretty proud of the way the inside turned out! Can't wait to drive this pile!

Great choice on the wheels. I am wondering if you did a mini tub on the bed, I did not see it in the build thread, but could have missed it.
I have a 10.5 on the rear with lots of clearance even with the 315's on the back. Are you planning on running like a 345/35/20?
Thanks,
Sean

Thanks, I'm pretty excited to see the wheels in person. I'm going to run the Mickey Thomson sr radials that are 29x15x 20. I did mini tub the bed. Split and widened the wheel wells about 4" There are pics somewhere early in the thread I think.

Those Mickey Thomson sr radials will look nice should give you some traction don't want to be smokin those boys they are not cheap. We ran drag radials on the 34 Reo not too fun in the rain. Very cool about the switch back LED had never heard of them I was just going to run the cargo light as 3rd brake light now I can copy you again keep up the good work.

That's a very cool mod. Can you give the details of what socket and bulb you used?

Ditto, I was thinking about just adding two more sockets for brake lights but the whole how to make it red thing perplexed me.

I had a hard time finding a red/white switchback. Here's where I ordered it.
http://www.autolumination.com/switchback.html
It's one of the 60 led 1157 style bulbs about halfway down the page.
I picked up a universal type replacement 1157 bulb socket at the parts store. Drove the old socket out, new one in and wired it up.

So how did you wire the bulb? From my understanding on that site we'll have to flip the polarity of the bulb to change the color. The cargo light switch just sends 12v to the lamp and the other wire it grounded to the cab. We'll need to use a simple DPDT 12v relay to flip the polarity when the brake switch is pressed. Brake switch pulls in the coil so it'll over ride the cargo lamp.

It's just plug and play, works like a normal taillight. One set of LEDs (tail) is white, the other (brake) is red. It works in a regular 1157 plug. Wire the dome light to the tail light side. Then just pull an extra wire to the brake light switch and wire it to the brake light wire on the plug.

That make sense, I kept overlooking the replace the socket part of your post.Coupe5oh wrote:It's just plug and play, works like a normal taillight.
