Hey everyone,
Today I installed a set of headers onto the truck, was a massive pita due to the engine being so close to the steering box but got them in and am happy as larry!
Here's a video of it with no mufflers or anything connected :D
http://youtu.be/aRas-mm9pa0

I'm wondering whether I should make up an exhaust myself to suit, what size mufflers do you guys recommend for 351C/W' V8's???

Cheers!

2.5" diameter exhaust is what I used for a 289 stroked 347 with 10.6:1 compression ratio.

With the steering on the right I'm wondering who would be making headers to fit that set-up? I'm thinking since headers are aftermarket items it'd be pretty rough to find a set "intended" to bolt up to that particular truck with the right hand steer since the numbers of them built that way would be few enough that aftermarket makers might not want to bother offering them?

I realize you're used to it and all... But it really makes a person think. :hmm: If I had to drive that truck and attempt to shift left handed I'd be grinding some gears for awhile for sure...! Nothing at all would feel right about that. I'll have to go back up and look but please don't tell me the right foot is clutch and left for brake and gas. That'd just freak me out completely...!

But regardless of being bass-akwards... You're doing a really nice job on that truck. Looks real nice...!!

A few australian companies(Genie & Pacemaker) make headers to suit em them, my ones were off a 76 F100 with a Cleveland so I knew they'd fit. Sometimes they need modifying depending on the steering setup.
It's auto so I don't have to shift :) To me driving a RHD manual seems normal because your right hand is on the steering wheel which Imo is more important then gear shifting. Nah pedal box's are the same as you guys.
Thanks mate! The paint's a bit shabby around the edges but I'm not complaining considering I'm driving a beast of a classic car at the age of 18!! :D

So its only been almost two years since an update but what the heck.
here are the latest pics though-

I've purchased a custom ifs kit from the pickup place to accept shockwave airbags instead of the coilovers that normally go in.

Long story short, when i started removing the front xmember, i thought I'd sand back behind where the bubbling was on top of the windscreen.. Bad idea! Ended up having about 8mm of bog caked over the whole roof and about 5mm average on the rest of the body.
So what i was thinking was going to be a fairly quick lowering job has turned into a full cab off rebuild.
