I put a 73 booster on mine and re drilled the hole for the brake pedal piviot bolt

I finally found a booster with the brackets as well as a pedal assembly on craigslist here locally. The master is junk, thats no big deal. I was trying to take the booster apart to give it a good cleaning on the inside as there is evidence of master cylinder leaking fluid into the booster, but that thing aint coming apart! If anyone has any tips on that procedure I'd appreciate hearing them.

well thought I'd post an update to keep us on the first page, We were kind of sliding down to the bottom. I spend more time reading everyones progress with their trucks than I do working on ours
Anyway, since going to the mark viii driveline a few adjustments had to be made. We're using 05 crown vic motor mounts which bolt up fine to the teksid block with some minor modification, and they line up with the pedestals in the crown vic crossmember but they place the motor too far forward, so the daughter and I fabbed up some adapter mounts to push the motor deeper towards the firewall as well as give it a few more degrees of incline. Looks real good now, but have to pull the driveshaft we just welded up and cut an inch or so out of it. That will wait untill tomorrow. It was good to be able to hang out with the big daughter for a while and she got to do some welding which she loves.
All in all a good day.

nope. for the time being stock leafs with a hanger flip, it will be a four link set up when we pull the bed off in January to cut it down to a short bed

Just about finished with the Mark VIII swap, had to make up some motor mount adapters to move the engine back a bit, driveshaft done,trans in, well you can just look at the pics, you get the idea.

Well, for a short time I think we're done with this build. We are shortening the frame and bed but that will be in January/Febuary. If I ever do another Mark VIII 4r70 swap I should be able to use this as a learning curve. The physical aspect wasn't a problem but the wiring drove me nuts. It drives like a new truck, we have overdrive and I'm hoping it gets decent mileage, I know it will be better than that snotty stroker. As with all projects there's a couple details left to do in the interior ( drivers door lock handle very sloppy) (finish the shifter console) and still have to build a posi for the 9 inch. These are pics after a bath (projects have a tendency to collect dust in my garage no matter how busy they are) and they might be repeats but I think these look better.

love this build. by chance which part of the states are you located, cause i have an extra swb chassis that i was going to use that now i dont need it.would be willing to let it go cheap..

Thanks. I'm near Chicago. I don't think I want to start from scratch with a new chassis at this time. If I was in the beginning stages I would have given it some thought.

Truck is looking great. I love the engine swap. Even though I have gone a different route swapping in a late model engine/trans combo still has my interest. All your links to photobucket go nowhere. Says image deleted or moved. I bet she is happy. Probably the envy of all her friends.

Thanks for the kind words. IIRC you were one of the first to put the IRS in our trucks correct? I went thru your thread back then when I was contemplating rear suspension options.
I figured out how to actually post the pics in the tread instead of forcing people to go o the "link" so they're further up in the post. We actually considered (well, I wanted to ) putting a straight axle in it with a big block (gasser style) and making a one piece front end. I'm going to let her get some seat time in it and then I'm looking into the difficulty of doing the one piece tilt front end.
I really think it's boredom on my end that makes me continue to screw around with it, I need to make her find her own garage to get it out of my hands.

I was indeed one of the first to do the IRS & as far as I know the first to heavily document the swap using the kit from Dave down at http://www.truckirs.com. Nice build!
I've also dropped in a DOHC, but went with a T45 five speed. CVIFS and MN12 IRS. Not looking forward to the wiring either and I'm an electrical engineer...
Sorry elgemcdlf.... I put my IRS in 10 years ago, long before there was any "kit"...

Going with the manual trans is going to make things easier, i e less wires
