All the holes in the truck must be a California thing. I have a 68 Cs from California and it too has a ton of drilled holes on the doors and bed rails.
Hey yer gonna hurt my feelings, seeing as how I'm in Calif and all.
You are correct though, my truck had a zillion holes on the bed rails for who knows what, as well as multiple mirror changes on the doors and so holes for that as well.
And the trucks I see in my local Pick-A-Part are also pretty much all afflicted with the same thing. Also, we seem to have loved to put cargo tie downs on the upper outsides of the bed, it's rare to see an older pickup without some version of them. I can even do a pretty good guess as to when they were installed given what type they are, as the stores sold different versions at different times.
My dad would get a new truck and the first thing he did was install the tie downs, then usually some bed rails of some sort, then campers came and went and so more holes there, as well as tool boxes and shazam, swiss cheese.
You don't see that so much now a days.
Nice truck. Great buy for 800, why that engine alone makes it worth more than that. It's also good to know that Dodge wheels fit.
