Was looking for a specific site for these trucks and glad I found one. I picked up this neat 68 the other day. I really wanted a long bed highboy truck but this thing just kept jumping out at me on the screen. It is a custom cab with the only real option is the power brakes if that was a option. It was born with a 360 and a three on the tree but the previous owner (12 years and he got it from the original owner) converted it to a 300 and the 4 speed with granny gear. That was very attractive to me as I always heard great things about the 300. I could live without the 4 speed but that is not a major priority. Was wondering if there is any real value to this truck? Only a couple minor rust spots, new floor pans and a few spots where I see paint issues. I want to replace the windshield (fogging at the bottom) replace the rear window seal, new window guides, radio and upgrade to disc brakes up front. I also want to paint the grill and wheels white to match the bumpers and break up the green. Tell me what you think, I may end up trading or selling if I could find the right 4x4. Thanks for looking.

from SoCal. VERY nice looking truck and yeah, that truck has some value. While you personally are looking for a long bed, the short bed trucks are in demand by people wanting to hotrod their trucks. The short beds are not as common as the long bed trucks and seem to be in more demand. So you scored a very nice truck there!
Thanks for the welcomes and compliments. I'm excited about the truck. I'm not really interested in making a hotrod put of it but just a nice driver. I'm going to paint the wheels but don't know if I should do the grill. What makes a custom cab custom? This truck is a plain Jane truck.
Custom Cab refers to the trim package, moulding and badges. There's the Custom, Sport Custom, Explorer, Ranger and the creme of the crop, Ranger XLT. http://www.fordification.com/tech/trim.htm
