1970 F100 "minor fixes"
Let me start by saying that I love this site, I've kinda lurked around for a few months ever since I bought my truck. Alittle back story, I bought the truck in march 2013 and its been my daily driver ever since. Its a 1970 F100 302/3 on the tree SWB. About four weeks ago the head gaskets finally let go and filled the number 4 cylinder and oil pan with water. It didn't hydrolock thankfully. I decided to do some "minor repairs" to get it back on the road.
This is how she looked when I got her.
The tear down began

Re: 1970 F100 "minor fixes"
Everything came in from summit and the build began
Did an edelbrock e-street top end kit, edelbrock car, brand new water pump, headers, ford racing valve covers, new distributor.
Mock up
Got the headers on after I had to order another set since they sent me a set for a mustang

Re: 1970 F100 "minor fixes"
Picked up a few things at the local pull a part the other day from a 1967 f100. I got a bench seat in great condition, side hood emblems, sun visors, headliner with all trim pieces accept one, tailgate, and full grill and lights. I got a three row radiator and fan shroud from a 1978 F250. The fan shroud was a mess of bondo but a good friend from church came and got it and cleaned all the bondo off and fixed it the right way.
I cleaned up the inner fenders, core support, and new grill then painted them all flat black to keep the rust at bay.
I also was able to slide in a new set of 15x8 black rims from summit
She ain't much but she's my baby, and I think I'm doing ok for a married 24 year old with kids and working only on the weekends I'm off and nights after we get the kids to bed.

on project. Can't wait to see how you dress up the wheels. I'm thinking about going with those wheels and and paint them same color as truck.

Re: 1970 F100 "minor fixes"
Thanks guys. I'm going to plati-dip the grille in the morning. I'm smoking my tail lights, rear marker lights, and turn signals. I got the 60/40 seat out tonight so I can put a my bench seat in. I'm gonna clean all the old dirt and dust out of the cab before I put the seat in. I had a buddy, that's an electrical guru, come and trace all the wires based off the wiring diagrams on here and they all looked good. I'm going to get the bumper off the 67 tomorrow I think it will go better with the 67 grill, I'm also gonna go ahead and do the 3G alternator upgrade also.

Thank you. I was surprised how good it looked with new heads and some fresh paint.
