Every project has some bumps along the way, some more than others. But it looks as though you are working through them well because you are making some good progress and the truck is looking good.

Thanks for the comments!!

Here is the video of the dyno pull.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpr6FGRxHMc

Sounds a bit funny because the dyno headers had a small leak, but it is pretty cool.

It made 425HP but more importantly it made 416ft lb of torque (and 377ft lb @ 2600 rpm). I was trying to get as much torque as possible out of a small block....next time it would be a big block, or at least a 351W based stroker, but the truck was originally a 302 so I thought I would stick with the original block size.

The one thing I learned from all this is that Edelbrock carbs are overrated, ended up having to swap to a quickfuel.....much better then!

So it has only been 2 months since my last update. Most people would think that is pretty sad, but for me that is extremely fast progress!

I took the frame down today to so that the cab and box can get set on it. We still need to do some cleaning up and painting of the underside of the box but here are a few pics I took while I was there.

Final pic of the box, right side. Don't mind the Dodge in the background, it isn't looking for any trouble

Monster tubs. Really like how these turned out.

Left side of the box

Cab on frame. It is lower than the final height because the bushings aren't installed yet, but it was really cool to finally have some forward progress!

Rear shot. With my friend's drag race only bumpsides in the background

The maiden voyage.....could somebody please give me a push?

I assume it is obvious but I thought I would mention that the underside of everything it painted already, just need to assemble it and give it the final overall paint job. Supposed to be done within a month. :woohoo:

Thank you! It is a great feeling knowing that the dirty "rip that apart and see how bad it is" stage of the project is over.

Exactly...I'm getting close though. I have a cab corner to do, an antenna delete, stake pocket delete, as well as a fuel filler neck delete ('69 Mustang tank under bed) for metal work and then bodywork them. Then, I have some head porting to finish up and it's painting, building, and assembly time!!! :D

Oh crap...I just remembered that I'm going to rebuild my Saginaw Steering box and most likely go through the 9". That's a little more fun though.
