Losing the drip rail came out real nice Dave. What'd you do for a windshield-new one?

Yeah new windshield, installed by a shop, took the poor guy forever
I dont like the front rims, but forced to run those cause of the crown vic front end. Maybe a mustang two on the horizon.
I could have put a lot more effort into the drip rail but got fed up with it. The good thing is it's sprayed with rust-oleum flat black, $40.00 total, so if I get more ambitious I can go back at it.

I have some interior pics I'm looking for, just bored for now, waiting to drop the mark VIII driveline in.

Thanks Bobby. I was this close to going big block and when I was following your build I kept reminding myself theres no substitute for cubic inches.

Well, I've now gone from the small block to the modular and next stop will be 460 based.

The 4.6 Mark VIII's are supposed to get decent mileage with the overdrive tranny. So we'll give this a go. Keeps me busy anyhow.

Hello all, I fell all the way back to the third page, not good!

Not for lack of work though, got the 4.6/4r70w combo installed, waiting for my ECU to be reflashed so I can start it up. I'm ordering carpet and have a couple questions. The trans hump measures about 5 inches high, would that make our truck a small block c/4 ? No driveline when we bought it but I was under the impression the guy told us it was a big block/stick combo, but I dont see any hole for the clutch rod.

Also, NPD has carpet for fuel tank in cab or w/o tank in cab. I've relocated our tank outside, so I'm wondering if there would be extra material to cover that area behind the seats. The tech at NPD couldnt answer that one.

trying to post some updated pics of the swap but photobuckets giving me problems.

Do you mean the removable cover is 5" high, or from the floor board to the top of the cover? I've got a "low hump" cover to go along with a C4 and it's only about 2" taller. So I'm thinking you have a "high hump" cover for a FE/C6 combo.

removeable cover? I've had this truck so long I cant remember if I removed anything like that. I did replace the floor pans though. I'm going to look at some of my old posts here to see what the pics show I found an old pic

Can anyone teel what hump that would be? low for a c-4 ? If anyone knows that would be great cause I just ordered carpet for a small hump

Yep. Standard low hump, no removable cover. That indention there is where the removable covers sit. For about an inch around inside that groove the floor was cut out. The groove is where the seal goes. There were two heights of covers. The "high hump" was for C6 and some manual transmissions. The "low hump" was for C4's. I hear you can get a C4 in without the removable cover but it's a tight fit.

Well, like a bad penny I keep turning up! Been away from the site but have been working on the truck. FINALLY got the wiring straightened out for the Mark VIII engine and trans. Got burned by a tuner in Florida regarding my ECU reprogramming which put me way behind schedule.

I'm at the point where I need to figure out a driveshaft for this thing. I would like to go one piece ( which would be near 70 inches give or take). Anyone have ideas where the best place to be to scrounge one? Maybe full size Ford Van? I want to stay away from a custom built one because next up is shortening the frame to a short box length. But that wont happen till this winter. Or am I doomed to a two piece shaft. If thats the case, would the yoke from a two wheel drive auto pick up work in the Mark VIII,s 4r70W?

I did install a used lift to make it easier for this old man to work on my junk

I see that the Forum is busier than ever, lots of cool projects going on.

Thanks for any input, Dave.

I have a question about a booster/master combo I want to but for the 67

Anyone know if this will work? I dont mind any necessary fabbing such as welding etc. Wondering about the bolt up to the firewall

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aaz-5 ... 100-pickup

also found this place that sells the 67 only booster brackets
