donor was an 85. wouldnt matter if it was a 250 or 350. both trucks were TTB that year.

Hey just a peace of advice you might want to plate those radius arms or they will end up looking like this if you wheel much.
Thees where 1 5/8 x 3/8 DOM, ended up platting them with 3/8 plate.

C6 is bolted into place.

Cab is stripped down and unbolted. Just has to be lifted off and moved over.

Looking good, And I didn't want to see your truck get ruined if one of those arms broke.

a 2-1/4 x 3/8 piece of DOM is exponentially stronger than 1-5/8 x 3/8. I'm not worried at all. Especially, since this is a mud truck build. LOL

Got a question for you guys. Hopefully someone can help me! Trying to figure out how to connect my steering column from the 69 to the power steering box for my 79. I currently have a 2wd 3-on-the-tree column in the truck, and also have a c6 column from a 72 2wd available. I MIGHT have a 74 dentside 2wd available for parts, if needed. Would like to get the column to be smooth as possible, so I can run a floor shifter for the c6.

Also, any suggestions on brake boosters/master cylinders that will bolt up to the 1969 cab? I haven't taken a good look at it yet, hoping someone might know something already.

This should give you some insight on the steering column http://www.fordification.com/tech/powersteering.htm The 3 on the tree, non p/s, columns won't work with a Saginaw box from the '79. You'll need the shorter column for p/s applications. Our columns were different depending on which options the truck had. However, you can adapt a '79 tilt column to fit your truck. http://www.fordification.com/tech/tilt.htm

I've been looking at that a lot, but the problem I have, is the parts I have done relate to that tech info. I'm putting a 2wd body on a 4x4 frame. Therefore I will need to get a column from a 4x4. From the best I can tell anyhow. But I'm going to try to use a little brain-power and some ingenuity, and build a double u-joint lower shaft that will connect my existing 2wd column, to the 4x4 steering box.

Look at our trucks "little brother" the early Bronco, (67-77) as I had just such a steering shaft on my EB that had two such U-joints. It made lifting the truck real...easy as it could be lengthened easily.

If only early broncos could be found in a junkyard around here. haha. No one scraps them because they are desirable. I'm HOPING I can source some parts off a common vehicle, like a chevy pickup, or a Jeep XJ. I have now done a lot of research on the matter.

I know I need a 36 spline u-joint on both ends (box and steering column) Right now, I'm looking for stock vehicles with the same spline counts that I can either steal the part directly from, or I can mix and match between the two, to get the shaft I am wanting.

Unfortunately, no one ever seems to know what the hell spline count their vehicle has, so google searching hasn't been much help. I may actually have to get off my ass this week sometime, hit up a junkyard, and see what I can figure out.
