ok, i also for got to add some other items. i have all new wheel cyl. installed along with rubber lines and a few feet of fresh brake line installed on the rear differential. there is also new shoes on the back wheels since one of the old wheel cyl. leaked and ruined the pads. so once i double check my flares on the brake line, i will bleed the brakes and finish scraping grease from the crossmembers.

the radio install was fairly easy, i just had to find a way to get it hung in the hole, it is am/fm/cassete, which is great for me since my dad has a lot of cassetes and i have a tape that allows you to hook up a ipod or a cd player.

i also need some info regarding where to drill the hole for the antenna so i can get it out of the engine compartment.

thanks

Hey Wyatt, great progress so far, man! Keep it going and keep us updated! Are you looking for dimensions on where to drill the antenna hole in the passenger side cowl panel? Can you not use your parts truck for reference? If you need some measurements, I'd be glad to help you out. Do you get much reception where it is? That's pretty funny.

well the antenna works quite well, but i think things will change when the hood and engine are put back in the truck. i dont have a complete stock antenna set up so i cant use the measurements yet, but if you have them, that would be nice. i cant wait to show you all how i patched some large wholes in the floor board on the drivers side. i will get the pics up asap.

thanks

well it has been some time since i last posted, and the pictures disapeared off the photo gallery for some unkown reason, but i will carry on and try to fix that.

here is the update and it is BIG and i mean BIG!!!!

the truck is RUNNING!! :woohoo:

this last weekend we drove about 100 miles on the truck, going to friends houses and such, but still it is big for me.

i got all the bushings to rebuild the clutch, and that is next weeks project. it works, but pops occasionally and needs to be fixed, so that will be done.

my good sparkomatic radio died on me after i installed some LEDs for lights (i dont have Am/Fm) but i still have the casette side working fine.

the 240 runs like a charm. my grandfather does good work, but this was after i discovered the machine shop sent us chevey v8 rocker arms and not fords! it did run on those for about a hour until the timing went way off...... the engine does run good though, it hardly vibirates the spark plug wires at high RPM, which is awesome!

the brakes have been giving me fits though, i dont have much pedal, but they do work. i am considering tearing apart the master cyl. and just cleaning it out and making sure it works before i get on the road to bonneville next thursday.

well i will get the pics figured out, and back on the forum here and get some things done so i can go to bonneville this next weekend.

thanks and---> :fr:

well, august was a long time ago, and now it is a day away from turkey day!

this is a long and overdue update, and i have a few things to note that have been accomplished since august. the truck has been driven on a daily basis for nearly a month now since i got my drivers liscence. i will go out and get some pics today of what it looks like. it has been cold and rainy up here in idaho, and winter is here but no snow in the low country.

so here is a overview of what has been done since august, and things have been going smoothly.

after some headaces with the engine not starting so i ended up going to the pick and pull and getting a Duraspark ingintion system out of a 300 six, and got that all hooked up and running, and i will say it made a huge diffrence in performance from takeoffs to basic running in general.

next thing i did was RAINX all the glass and mirrors on the truck. with original and the de fogger it makes a world of diffrence and i would not hesitate to reccomend it to anyone who is tired of the rain and cruddy windshield wipers.

i added a newer radio that a fellow bump and dent collector gave me which works great, and re arranged the antenna set up.

i was given a tool box which looks and works great in the truck

i changed the insturment cluster to a personal touched up one off of a custom or ranger cab truck,

and added some carpet from my step dads work to give it a little bit of a style rather than bare floors.

that is all i can think about at the moment, and to all,

happy thanks giving and safe travels.

this last image is of my modified oil bath air cleaner. i have a D7 YFA carter carb on the engine and my oil bath would not fit it, so i used a mr gasket paper filter base and welded it to the bottom of my oil bath and extended my hold down rod accordingly. it works really well and i am pleased with the results. i hope to get more pictures of my mods and post them in the appropriate forums for others to try.

thanks and happy holidays

Great work, Wyatt! I like how you mounted your Duraspark box on the inside firewall.
