Thanks, this is a whole different color when you get it out in the sun. I'll post some pics when I get there.
F100builder wrote:Nice work!!! I'm anxious to see it in the sunshine too. Are you going to lower it or do any suspension or brake mods? You sticking with the current wheel/tire setup or going with something else? Keep it up!
Thank you. Eventually I'd like to go with the Crown Victoria front suspension and probably a 4 link, or ladder bar setup in the rear, resulting in some lowering. I should have done that first, but it was an after thought and I just wanted to get this truck done. I need a rear suspension that can handle the power, and also a good handling front suspension to go with. My main concern is the brakes though. And I'm going to keep the wheel/tire combo for this summer till I do the suspension maybe next winter.

Thank you very much. Gonna hit overdrive on assembly, cause I'm excited to get her done.

67 Short Bed Build (8/24) Update

Post by 1967AceStroker »

Well, not too much of an up date, but it's something. Well after I got the truck painted work picked up and I didn't have much time to work on it. I had quite a bit put together like most of the interior, bumpers, lights, grill, wiring, some mechanical, etc. BUT I had an issue that was addressed a little late. I noticed some flaws in the clear right off the bat when it was finished, but the guy who did the work said it would come out with sanding and buffing. I didn't think so, so I had a friend who does body work come look at it and said it was way too thin and rough to do that. He said it needs to be wet sanded and re cleared. So know I've taken it all back apart to sand it and re clear it. I've got it about %90 sanded now and am gonna have a professional do the clear in a paint booth, cause I'm not puttin' up with no setbacks like this again. But I will certainly post pics when I get back on track. Which should be soon.

Anyways, I got my carburetor back from getting it dyno tuned. And picked up some 110 race fuel and got all that put in and back together. I decided to make a quick video of how my truck sounds. Open headers. 8)

67 Short Bed Build (10/10) Back On Track!

Post by 1967AceStroker »

Back on track!! :woohoo: Well I decided to let a body re shoot my truck and I had them buff it to. It looks like a mirror. Came out really nice this time. Been spending what free time I have putting her together for real. Gonna be a new old truck when I get done with it. I'm going to run the original aluminum 67 grille for now. It's a little beat up, but I'm gonna have to pinch some pennies to get my perfectly straight steel one chromed. Put the new bumpers, new door handles, new tail lights, and old grille on this week.

Any ways, here is what she looks like at the moment. I need to grab a shot of it in the sunlight for you guys. That blue really comes alive then.

Thanks for looking. I should have more soon. :D

67 Short Bed Build (10/23) Paint Pic

Post by 1967AceStroker »

Thanks you guys! I've been working hard on it, gonna have to grab some more pics for you guys and do a real update soon. But I'll put this one for now. You have to see this color in person to really see how cool it looks. It goes from almost black in the dark, to a bright metallic blue in direct light, to purple in indirect light, and I even get some turquoise if you get the right angle. Gets a lot of attention just sitting in the driveway. :D
And Josh, the color is from a 2011 Ford Mustang. Its called Kona Blue Metallic. I used ppg omni plus base and mid grade shopline clear on my truck. It's also been buffed.

Check out that reflection on the side. 8) Thanks for looking.
