Part name Help
I need to know the name of part number 7086 in the diagram? But it's not the one with 6 holes it the one with 5 that's leaking and I want to just replace that. And is there anything tricky about changing this gasket out? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Re: Part name Help
hm not sure what you would call that piece, tailshaft housing? I would think that there was a paper gasket that that sealed that to the trans body.

Re: Part name Help
It is an adapter housing for special apps. not used in all models..Why not circle the part & fax it to your local Ford dealer...Or stop at your local Trans shop, they may have some old stock broken kits in the back room..tell him or her that you want to BUY it....
It is easy to change, drop the shaft, remove the nut & speedo cable & the 5 bolts...Lift the rear of the truck & add safety stands, allow the front to stay on the floor & you won't lose much fluid........HTH.........Donnie

Re: Part name Help
7086 are gaskets.
Nothing hard about changing them. Maybe an hour tops unless you have a 4x4, then maybe 2 hours.
