hydraulics n bumps

While flipping through my NPD parts book I ran across a hydraulic slave cylinder and clutch master for 57-60 ford pickups. I wasnt aware that ford had hydraulic clutches until the 80's. Anyone installed a hydraulic clutch system in their bump?

Quite a few have used hydraulic clutches in bumps.

The hydraulic clutch with Master and a Slave cylinder was utilized through the 57 - 60 Fords and the Slave Cylinder was mounted outside the bellhousing and actuated the TO arm in the same manner as the linkage system did in the earlier and the later systems, don't remember if they were used before that. They switched to Linkage in the 61 models. Then in the mid to late 80s, they went to the Master and an Annular TO setup in which the Slave Cylinder was incorporated with the TO brg inside the Bellhousing. The MC and SC in the NPD catalog can be retrofitted to the vehicles with a linkage setup and will result in a slightly smoother clutch engagement. The decision to go back to the linkage system was based on manufacturing costs.
