Hi Everyone,
I'm currently rebuilding a 69 F100 and am in the process o cleaning up the drivetrain. I have the 3 speed on a work bench and when I tried to spin the shaft before I started working on it everything worked fine including shifting through all the gears. I took the two ends off and the cover and replaced the gaskets. I also gave the whole outside a thorough cleaning. When I put the ends back on the shaft is now really tight and it doesn't shift through all of the gears. I'm really hoping I don't have to pull out the gears to see what might be causing it.
Has anyone else run into an issue like this? Thanks.
Nate

Kinda sounds to me that you dropped one or more of the Pocket Bearing rollers out of place and now the shafts are binding. Not doing the assembly properly may have resulted in the destruction of some of the rollers. You need to get a manual and do the assembly of the mainshaft and input shaft step by step to not do this.
