From searching around here, it doesn't look like swapping an AOD would be too hard. I've got an AOD out of a '84 Grand Marquis (traded it straight up for a TH-350) that was bolted to a 302, and my truck also has a 302. I've got the flexplate/flywheel, convertor, and the linkage for the transmission too. I realize I need a shifter and some driveshaft mods and may have some fun with the starter, but I think I'm good so far.
What is this part about needing a linkage corrector or adaptor for the carb? Sorry for the newb sounding question, but this is the oldest vehicle by far I've ever owned and I'm trying to learn as fast as I can. Re: AOD swap questions
The Linkage corrector goes on the part of the carb where your throttle rod is hooked to. This provides the throttle valve cable a place too hook too, and also keeps the cable at the right angle. The Throttle cable bracket which you will also need holds the throttle valve cable in place so the linkage corrector can pull it correctly.
1968 F100 Took the running 390 out, and installed a Built 300 with AOD.

Re: AOD swap questions
I put an AOD in my truck, I ended up not being able to use the stock bracket and had to fabricate a shifting mount. But it was nothing, it went in good. As far as the parts on the carb I just bought a holley kit.
