Few trucks have as much style as this build. It's not too fancy nor look like it was ordered out of a Summit catalog. The colors compliment each other and it's not over the top. It just screams 'Classic Hot Rod'

Pretty cool,

Patrick, I've said it before, and I'll say it again, your project was a huge reason and motivator for me to jump into mine after so many years. So thanks for that! And thanks for putting the story all together here! I love your truck - you've made many excellent choices in regards to bang-for-the-buck. Jamie's right, it does scream Classic Hot Rod, but the 3 words that I have to say every time I see it..."That's freaking cool!"

If you guys think he has a rockin' bump you should see the work he has done on the '56! Talk about a perty chassis. By the way the bump is nice looking & I agree with the bang for the buck. A perfect example for young people just getting into the hobby.

 Wow...thanks guys! My head is swelling! It really means a lot. I'm very proud of this truck as I've really busted my butt on it and have done all that you see here on a relatively small budget so thanks again. Tyler, I need to get to your build thread and check on yours again. I've been absent from the forum for a little while and have missed quite a bit I'm sure. Elgemcdlf, thanks to you too...my '56 has been VERY neglected in the past few years and it's time to get crackin' again. It has been a marathon project and I'm getting a little disgusted with myself...must get it on the road before I can't do this stuff anymore! I love the work you're doing to your truck as well. I'll be referring to your thread someday...I want to redo the '69 when my '56's paint is dry!

It is rattle can...Krylon satin black (don't do flat black IMO). I had the same idea. I just wanted the truck to be one color and in my budget for now. It's lasted remarkably well...I painted it in 2008 and added a second coat last summer to freshen it up a little (way fewer cans 2nd time). I want to perform a little rust repair and body work before I lay down a more expensive job. I think I may still do it in satin black but I'll gun-shoot a higher quality paint with some UV protection.

Couldn't agree more, that engine looks awesome. The whole truck looks awesome. Best rattle can job I've seen, and great choice in wheels
